The mass air flow sensor (MAF sensor) is an important component of an emissions control system on a vehicle. It measures the amount of air flowing into and out of the engine, and it sends this data to the ECU. If the MAF sensor fails, the ECU may not be able to calculate thecorrect air-fuel mixture and hence the vehicle may not perform as it should. There are several signs of a failed MAF sensor, and depending on the severity of the issue, the vehicle may not be able to operate at all.
